Support Classes

We offer classes for students ranging from moderate impaired to severe impaired, autism and a range of physical disabilities.

The classes work under a Life Skills curriculum where we support student learning through a variety of practical based activities including Community Access in the local community, Newcastle and Maitland area. In school and community based work experience, Sailabilty, and learn to swim lessons. Students have the opportunity to experience field to plate activities through harvesting and cooking food from our kitchen garden.

LaSTs

To assist students with learning difficulties we offer two intensive literacy programs Lexia and QuickSmart. These are developed from a variety of testing PAT, SWRT, WARP, OZCAAS and YARC to assure we are meeting the student’s needs.

Requests for disability provisions for HSC can be made through the school LaSTs. These provisions are given by NESA and applied for based on a variety of school based tests and supporting medical documentation.
