Wellbeing
At our school, student wellbeing and learning go hand in hand. We want every student to feel safe, included and ready to learn. Whether your child needs help with their mental, emotional, social or physical wellbeing, we are here to help them thrive at school and in daily life.
How we support student wellbeing
At Irrawang High School, supporting each student’s mental, emotional, social, and physical wellbeing is part of everyday school life.
We do this through:
- Welcoming and inclusive teachers – helping every student feel valued and included.
- Access to specialist support – including school counsellors, school psychologists, and other specialist staff.
- Health and wellbeing programs – supporting social skills, positive behaviour, attendance, and overall health.
- Transition support – assisting students who are new or moving to different year levels.
- Clear behaviour expectations – promoting respectful relationships and a positive school culture.
- Strong staff–family connections – staff getting to know each child and working closely with families.
- Health care plans – tailored plans to meet individual student needs.
- Open communication – fostering dialogue about wellbeing and available support.
