Over 200 guests including Principals, special guests, school captains, award recipients, family and friends from 10 local Port Stephens Schools converged on Irrawang High School yesterday for the annual Education Week Awards Ceremony with 50 recipients receiving awards. Prior to the ceremony guests were entertained by the fabulous Irrawang High Drum Corps, with a delicious afternoon tea freshly prepared and served by IHS Year 12 hospitality students.
Performances by students from Irrawang High School and Hunter River High were the highlight of the ceremony.
Irrawang High recipients were:
Excellence in Teaching, Ms Sarah Bailey; Excellence in Student Achievement, Amy Waterhouse and Emma Cummings; Outstanding Contribution by a School Community Member to the School, Ms Paula Hemmings; Outstanding Contribution by a Non -Teaching Member of Staff, Marilyn Taylor;
