GATS and Enrichment
Throughout each year, Irrawang High School provides numerous opportunities for students in Years 4, 5 and 6 to explore the world of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and other enrichment activities in CAPA / HSIE / Literacy / Numeracy and collaboration mini projects.
Year 4 Bridge Building project - partner schools (through direction from IHS staff) build a structure that is exhibited at the Irrawang High School GATS Expo annually in Term 3 at the high school. A competition is held to find the strongest bridge built by the primary school team members
Year 5 GATS / Enrichment program involves 30 selected students (via an interview process held at each campus) to be involved in a variety of activities at the high school campus
Year 6 GATS / Enrichment program involves 30 selected students (via an interview process held at each campus) to be involved in a variety of activities at the high school campus
Opportunities for students in GATS areas continue into Yr 7 and beyond, and include Academic CAPA and Sporting activities.
