Students in STEM have had the chance to strip down, repair and rebuild some old computer hardware that was going to be recycled this week. This gave students a chance to get hands-on with computer hardware and components in a controlled environment, and once the units were rebuilt, they installed a new operating system to play old retro games.
Students are now wiring and soldering their own control systems to play the games they have running (Briefly). Integrating these skills into projects like this one provides plenty of motivation to complete the task successfully.
