The Real Futures Foundation
"OUR MISSION is to assist secondary school students in Port Stephens in reaching their full potential through job preparedness, motivation and skill development. "Real Futures - making futures real for our youth"
The Real Futures Foundation a not for profit based organisation based in Port Stephens, was first formed in 2003 and supports many programs to high schools in Port Stephens, including Irrawang High School.
Funding for the Foundation comes from two sources; sponsorship by local businesses in the Port Stephens community, and grants.
The Foundation was founded on the philosophy that schools and the local community are partners in the support and development of their young people and with the assistance of various programs, to ensure they find a productive future in either furthering their education and training, or securing suitable employment.
Aside from their support of the Irrawang High Breakfast Club, Real Futures along with the Raymond Terrace Bowling Club has sponsored the World of Work program (WOW) for all our Year 10 students for many years. The WOW program is held by an independent facilitator who works with the students on important first impressions, personal presentation, goal setting, communication and interview skills, with feedback from the students outstanding.
